KCLL News and Updates
Hello KCLL Families players and fans,
In the interest of keeping you all as up-to-date as we can, we will be publishing updates here. Please check back regularly.
ILLEGAL BATS
I am sorry to have to start with a bit of a negative, but this is super important. The only bats allowed in any of our divisions of play (TB - Majors) are metal bats marked with the USA Baseball logo or wood bats. USSSA, BBCOR, Little League, etc are considered to be illegal. As with the pitch counts, the bat regulations are specifically related to player safety and are therefore strict and non-negotiable. If a batter enters the batter's box with an illegal bat, both the player and the head coach are subject to ejection, the batter is called out, and the head coach is subject to a 1 game suspension. This is specified by Little League International. The coaches and umpires have been briefed on this matter, but I would ask that each family take a few moments to check you player's bats and confirm that they are either wood or have the USA Baseball logo on them. My suggestion is that you take any illegal bats out of the bag and leave them at home as they cannot be used in games or practice. Please help us in this matter to keep your players safe. We are grateful, and I know your coaches appreciate it also!
TEAM SPIRIT STORE!
Great news--the new Team Spirit Store is officially open!
Now's your chance to gear up and show your team pride all season long! We've got everything from short sleeve and long sleeve shirts to hoodies---perfect for siblings, grandparents, rowdy aunts and uncles, and the loudest fans in the stands--mom and dad.
Order site here:
KCLL Team Spirit Store
Orders can be delivered to Imprints Littleton (10499 Bradford Rd, Unit 102) which is right down the street from Community Park or shipped directly to your house. These items are a fun way to support your team and look like the most put-together crew at the field (no pressure, but we all know spirit wear = extra cheers).
Don't wait too long or the season will pass you by!
CALL-UPS
In our league, often times teams find themselves short handed for a game. We have a long tradition of allowing players from lower divisions to play as a “Call Up” to help teams field a full defense. This is a great opportunity for strong players to have an opportunity for some extra challenge at the next level.
Call ups are not allowed to pitch, must bat at the bottom of the batting order, and are required to wear the jersey for their lower division team so they are easily identifiable. Call ups can play for multiple teams; once they play with one team, they can still play as a call up for someone else. Players may NOT be called "across" within the same division.
If this sounds like something your player would be interested in, please

to fill out an information form that will be accessible to coaches looking for call ups.
KCLL PICTURE DAY
David has sent out info to all families about picture day- if you haven’t read it, the main thing that differs from previous years is that our photographer is going to do actual in-person team photos for any team that wants it. If you want to do this for your team, it is up to you to communicate with your families when to meet on photo day to take that photo. Otherwise, they will combine the individual photos to create a composite group photo as in years past.
This Saturday, 4/11, is our Picture Day. The photographer will be at Community Park from 7:30 - 4:00. Please coordinate with your teams on when to be there. The best time is obviously before you play, but that might not be possible for everyone. We are also doing a food drive, so bring a food item or 2 that stores well or is non-perishable.
DAY AT THE ROCKIES
Thank you to everyone who has already purchased tickets to this event! Reminder to get your ticket orders in as soon as possible, as we've got two weeks left before we need to send our final order to the Rockies.
This is a fun annual event that also serves as KCLL's biggest fundraiser of the year. Each season, KCLL partners with the Colorado Rockies for our annual Day at the Rockies event at Coors Field. KCLL players have the opportunity to walk the warning track at the stadium before we take our seats to enjoy the game. Here are the basics of this year's event:
The deadline for ticket purchase will be Thursday, April 16th.
Date: Sunday, May 3rd, first pitch @ 1:10 p.m.
Opponent: Atlanta Braves
Cost:
Upper level: $20/ticket. These seats have been behind home plate on the 3rd level in years past.
Lower level: $30/ticket. These seats have been down the right field line in years past.
Parking: $25 (it is not a requirement that you purchase this, especially if you prefer to park elsewhere)
How to pay:
Option 1 = Venmo @David-Goetz-43
Option 2 = Check made out to Ken Caryl Little League. Arrangements for drop-off can be made with me separately via e-mail at
[email protected]
.
Please be sure to specify how many tickets you want and in which section when sending in your order.
Additional details such as where to go once you get to the stadium, what to wear, and how to pick up your tickets will be shared at a later date. In the meantime, I am happy to answer any questions you may have so please e-mail me if I can clarify anything for you. I hope to see you all at Coors Field in May!
FUNDRAISERS
Team/Player Bracelets: Please visit the following link to purchase a cool bit of swag for the season.
KCLL Team/Player Bracelets
Jimmy John's fundraiser: Every Saturday this month, stop by Jimmy John's at Wadsworth and Chatfield (7444 W Chatfield Ave) mention KCLL, and they'll give 50% of all orders back to KCLL! I know it was a little clunky last weekend, but that has been straightened out, and they are ready to go and be freaky fast!
WEATHER
Yep, it is springtime in Colorado which means you never know what might be going on with the weather. We will always do everything we can to get games in, especially on the weekends, but sometimes it just doesn't work out. We will use the Team Reach app (
Google
,
Apple
, code is KCLLRAIN), update the website and communicate via your coaches to keep everyone up to date, but please proceed as if the games (and picture day!) are on unless you have been specifically told otherwise.
